The First International Conference of Lignocellulose (ICON-LIG), held in conjunction with the 10th International Symposium of Sustainable Humanosphere (ISSH), took place virtually on September 13-14, 2021. This groundbreaking event was organized by the JSPS Alumni Association of Indonesia (JAAI) in collaboration with the Research Center for Biomaterials, BRIN, and revolved around the theme “Frontier Innovation of Lignocellulose and Humanosphere Sciences Towards Sustainable Development Goals and Climate Change Mitigation.”
The primary objective of this dual conference was to foster a collaborative environment where experts could discuss and share the latest advancements in lignocellulose and humanosphere sciences. The focus was on how these innovations could contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and addressing the pressing issue of climate change.
The collaboration between JAAI and the Research Center for Biomaterials, BRIN, was instrumental in the success of ICON-LIG and ISSH 2021. Their combined efforts ensured a well-organized and impactful conference, providing a comprehensive platform for discussing and advancing sustainable innovations.
The ICON-LIG and ISSH 2021 conferences underscored the importance of lignocellulose and humanosphere sciences in achieving SDGs and combating climate change. By bringing together a diverse group of researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders, the event fostered a holistic approach to sustainable development.
